New Websites and Redesigns

Websites designed and built on the platform that fits, set up so your team can edit them, with a partner who stays after launch.

Intro text

iTech4Web builds new websites and handles website redesigns on the platform that fits your content and your team: Drupal, WordPress, a custom or static site, or a headless front end. We plan the content, design the pages and set up editing so your staff can update the site without calling a developer. After launch we keep it secure and up to date.

Built for your team

A website your team can update on its own

Many organizations that come to us want to change a page, add a post or swap a photo without waiting for a developer, and to have an expert on hand for everything else. We design the editing side of the site as carefully as the public side.

Pages from ready-made sections

Your editors build new pages from sections designed for your site, such as text with an image, a card grid or a call to action, so new pages match the rest of the site.

Roles and review

If your organization needs it, we set up roles and an approval step, so a draft gets checked before it goes live.

Training in plain language

Before launch we walk your team through the editing screens of your site and leave a short guide written for editors.

Editing with an AI assistant

Your team can also ask an AI assistant to draft page changes and approve them before they go live. See AI website editing.

What we build

A new website or a website redesign

Some projects start from a blank page. Others start from a site that works but looks dated, is hard to edit or no longer fits what the organization does. We handle both.

New site

A new website

For a new organization, a new program or a site that has outgrown its website builder. We plan the pages and content with you, then design, build and launch the site.

Redesign

A redesign of your current site

A new look and a clearer structure for the content you already have. We keep your URLs or redirect the old ones to the new pages, so visitors and search engines still find them.

Key pages

A homepage or landing pages

Sometimes the homepage and a few main pages are what needs work. We redesign those pages and give your editors the tools to rearrange them as priorities change.

Any stack

On the platform that fits

Drupal, WordPress, a custom or static site, or a headless front end. Drupal is where we have the most depth, and we recommend it only when your content and team need it.

UI/UX design

Design that starts with the people who use the site

We can design the site as part of the project, or build from a design you already have. Our design work starts with who visits the site and what they come for, and only then moves to colors and layouts.

Research and structure

We look at your analytics and current content, talk with your team about your visitors, and plan the sitemap and content types before any visual design starts.

Wireframes and prototypes

You see the layout of the key pages and the main paths through the site in Figma and comment on them before we write code.

Visual design and components

Typography, color, imagery and a set of reusable page sections that follow your brand, so the site stays consistent as your team adds pages.

Phones and accessibility

Every layout is designed for phones as well as desktops. We use WCAG 2.1 AA as the reference for contrast, headings, keyboard use and form labels.

How it works

From the first call to launch

1

Discovery and quote

We learn your goals, your visitors, your content and the systems the site connects to. You get a written plan and a quote with the price, timeline and scope.

2

Design

Sitemap, wireframes and visual design for the key pages. You review and approve each stage before the build starts.

3

Build and content

We build on a staging site you can open at any time, move or add the content, and fix what your team finds in testing.

4

Launch and care

We launch at a time you choose, set up redirects, train your editors and check the site after launch. A care plan keeps it updated and secure afterwards.

FAQ

Questions about new websites and redesigns

Should we redesign our current website or build a new one?

If the platform is current and the content structure still works, a redesign is usually enough. If the platform is out of support, hard to edit, or no longer fits how your organization works, a new build usually makes more sense. We look at your site and recommend one before you commit.

Which platform will you build our site on?

The one that fits your content and your team. Drupal suits structured content, many editors with different permissions, multilingual sites and complex integrations, and it is our deepest expertise. WordPress suits a site that is mostly pages and a blog with a few editors. A static or custom site suits small, fast sites, and a headless front end suits projects that need a separate app layer. We can also rebuild on the platform you already use.

Will our team be able to edit the site without a developer?

Yes, that is one of the goals of every build. We set up editing around your content, train your editors before launch and leave a short guide. If you prefer, your team can also make changes by asking an AI assistant, with review before anything goes live: see AI website editing.

Do you design the site, or only build it?

Both. Our UI/UX work covers research, the sitemap, wireframes and prototypes in Figma, visual design and a set of reusable page sections. If you already have a design from your own designer, we can build from it.

Will a website redesign hurt our search rankings?

Not if it is planned. We keep your URLs or redirect the old ones to the new pages with 301 redirects, carry over page titles, meta descriptions and the XML sitemap, and compare the old and new sites before launch. After launch we check for broken links and crawl errors.

How much does a new website cost, and how long does it take?

It depends on the number of page types, the amount of content to move, the integrations and how much custom design you need. After a discovery call you get a quote with the price, timeline and scope, so you know both before the work starts.

What happens after launch?

We check the site after launch and fix anything that comes up. If you want us to stay on, a care plan covers updates, security, backups and small changes, so the site does not fall behind.

Our previous developer left in the middle of the project. Can you finish it?

Yes. Many of our clients come to us after their developer left. We first make sure the code, hosting and accounts are in your name, then review what was built and tell you whether to finish it or start over. See project takeover.
